Collection and Use of Personal Information
Personal information is data that can be used to uniquely identify or contact a single person.
Here are some examples of the types of personal information appdb may collect and how we may use it.
What personal information we collect
▪ When you sign up for an appdb account or participate in any forum activity, we may collect a variety
of information, including your IP address and email address.
▪ When you download content from file hostings we will keep a log of the content you have been followed to.
How we use your personal information
▪ The personal information we collect allows us to keep you posted on appdb’s latest announcements,
website / app updates and upcoming events. It also helps us to improve our services, content and
advertising. If you don't want to be on our mailing list, you can opt out anytime.
▪ We also use personal information to help us develop, deliver and improve our products, services, content and advertising.
▪ From time to time, we may use your personal information to send important notices, such as communications changes to our terms, conditions and policies. Because this information is important to your interaction with appdb, you may not opt out of receiving these communications.
▪ We may also use personal information for internal purposes such as auditing, data analysis and research to improve appdb’s products, services and customer communications.
Cookies and Other Technologies
appdb's website, online services, interactive iOS application, email messages and advertisements may use
"cookies" and other technologies such as pixel tags and web beacons. These technologies help us better
understand user behaviour, tell us which parts of our website people have visited, and facilitate and
measure the effectiveness of advertisements and web searches. We treat information collected by cookies
and other technologies as non-personal information.
appdb will store your session for 10 years, if you don’t log in for more than 10 years your session will be reset the next time you log in.
If you want to disable cookies and you're using the Safari web browser, go to Safari preferences and then to the Privacy pane to disable cookies. If on an Apple mobile device, go to Settings, then Safari and then to the Cookies section. For other browsers, check with your provider to find out how to disable cookies. Please note that certain features of the appdb’s website may not be available once cookies are disabled.
As is true of most websites, we gather some information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser type and language, Internet service provider (ISP), referring and exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp and clickstream data.
We use this information to understand and analyze trends, to administer the site, to learn about user behavior on the site, and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. appdb may use this information in our marketing and advertising services.
Third-Party Sites and Services
The appdb website and iOS Application contain links to third-party websites, products and services. Our products and services may also use or offer products or services from third parties − for example, a third-party iPhone app. Information collected by third parties, which may include such things as location data or contact details, is governed by their privacy practices. We encourage you to learn about the privacy practices of those third parties.
We can share data we collect about you including unique identification numbers associated with mobile devices or through its API (including, for example, a Unique ID for Advertisers ("IDFA"), Unique ID for Vendors ("IDFV"), Google Ad ID, or Windows Advertising ID), mobile carrier, device processes, device type, model and manufacturer, mobile device operating system brand and model, battery life, and, depending on the user’s mobile device settings, the geographical location data, including GPS coordinates (e.g. latitude and/or longitude) or similar information regarding the location of the mobile device (“User Data”) with our third party partners, that enables us to provide you with information, advertisements, or offers specific to your location and interests.
By accepting our terms of service, you consent to the collection, storage and processing of your data by our third party partners for the purposes of: (i) providing or improving their services; (ii) enabling third parties to assist us and the retailer and venues (in which the beacons are located) in better serving and understanding our users; and (iii) sharing your data with third parties so they can provide or enable the provision of content, offers or other marketing solutions that may be of interest to you. You also consent to having your data transferred to and processed in the United States or any other jurisdiction in which our third party partners or their parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, service providers or partners maintain facilities. If you do not consent to the collection and transfer of the aforementioned data through the identification of your mobile device, we recommend that you: (a) delete our app or adjust the in-app settings of the app; or (b) opt out of sharing your mobile advertiser ID by limiting ad tracking on the device. For iOS, navigate to your Settings > Select Privacy > Select Advertising > Enable the “Limit Ad Tracking” setting.
Attached cryptographic identities
The appdb website and related services may store attached by users cryptographic entities and must not disclose that information to anyone except such information provider, if it is not required by applicable laws.
Shared operating systems executables
Appdb may store operating system executables provided by users. User must have explicit permission to store/share every single executable. Permission granted to appdb by clicking "share" button can be revoked only by executable owner or any copyrights holders that were confirmed by applicable procedures of applicable laws.
